Frequently Asked Questions

What is The FA Coaching Bursary and how does it work?

The bursary does not offer a guaranteed placement on a course. Bursary recipients are still required to apply for courses in the same way as non-bursary candidates.

The FA Coaching Bursary Programme is an inclusive initiative designed to support more coaches from under-represented communities, in both grassroots and professional football in England, with a financial contribution towards applying for an FA course.

Successful Grassroots applicants will be awarded a bursary of £600 toward the full cost of The FA Level 3 (UEFA B) in Coaching Football.

Successful applicants from the professional game will be awarded a 90% bursary toward The FA Level 4 (UEFA A) in Coaching Football; Advanced Youth Award and/or The FA Level 5 (UEFA Pro) in Coaching Football.

If you have been successful, you will receive a confirmation email that includes a unique booking link where you can pay using your bursary.

Does it make a difference if I am a member of The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club?

Yes. FA Licensed Coaches’ Club members are already eligible for discounted course costs, which means the bursary’s contribution will be towards a lower figure than non-FA Licensed Coaches’ Club members.
